Aihemat Tohuti is a power transmission and transportation inspector for the Power Supply Company of Bayingoleng Mongolia Autonomous Prefecture in Xinjiang. In 2010, the 220 kV power transmission and transformation project from Taiyuan to Tazhong was completed and put into operation. Since that day, Aihemat has become the guardian of this transmission line across the Taklimakan Desert.

Aikhmat Tohuti and his colleagues crossed the desert to inspect the 220 kV tower line. This line is the first power transmission line in China to cross the Taklimakan Desert. It was completed in 2010 and has a total length of 331 kilometers. It is the "power artery that guarantees the production and life of hundreds of thousands of customers in Qiemo, Ruoqiang and Tazhong Oilfield." ".

In May 2022, a sandstorm emptied 2 meters of sand at the fixed point of the tower's cable. The tower that loses the protection of the cable is in danger of falling at any time. Aihemat Tohuti quickly called the large excavator and fought with his colleagues for more than 20 consecutive days, successfully protecting the line.

"It felt like being in an oil pan. At that time, the soles and uppers of my work shoes were separated, and the soles of my feet were hot and blistered. I tied the soles and uppers together with shoelaces and continued to complete the inspection task." Hemat Tohuti said that he drank 4 liters of water by himself at the end of the day.

"Riding on the sand beam with great strides, the leeward slope cannot be crossed" is the mantra for desert patrolling summed up by Aikhmat Tohuti. This formula has protected the personal safety of the linemen countless times.

The method of "listening to distinguish injuries", that is, to judge whether the tower is defective by tapping the tower material, this method greatly improves the accuracy of inspection. This is another special skill that Akhmet Tohti has developed based on years of experience.

In the past 12 years, Aihemat Tohuti has crossed the Taklimakan Desert inspection route more than 170 times and traveled more than 70,000 kilometers.Editor/Ma Xue
