At about 8:00 am on August 6, 2022, the first pile of the Lianyungang section of the Liansu Expressway started construction, which marked that the Liansu Expressway sounded the clarion call to accelerate the construction in an all-round way. According to reports, the construction site is located at the control node project of the whole line, the Shanhou River Bridge, which is also the longest single-span project in the Lianyungang section of the Liansu Expressway. The first pile construction will lay a solid foundation for the completion of the Liansu Expressway on schedule.

Shanhou River is the channel channel for the planned port dredging channel of Xuwei Port Area, and it is also one of the five provincial-level ecological control areas along the line. The No. 18 pile of the main pier on the north side of the Shanhou River Bridge was drilled first, with a depth of 90 meters.

Lianyungang Section of Liansu Expressway

The Lianyungang section of Liansu Expressway is an important part of the "Jiangsu Expressway Network Planning (2017-2035)", which is an important part of the 15th, 6th, 10th and 10th horizontal, middle and horizontal lines, numbered S16. The first phase of the road project is about 40.7 kilometers long, passing through Xuwei New District, Dongxin Farm, Haizhou District, and Guanyun County, and is divided into 6 tender sections. There are 25 bridges of various types on the whole line, of which the Shanhou River Bridge is 1981 meters long and has 60 spans in total, of which the main span is 120 meters long. The construction of the No. 42 main pier No. 18 pile head pile, the pile diameter of 1.8 meters, the pile length of 77 meters.

Mao Shantong, director of the Lianyungang Municipal Transportation Bureau and director of the Municipal Expressway Construction Headquarters, introduced that under the correct leadership of the Municipal Party Committee, Municipal Government and Provincial Communications Construction Bureau, the Lianyungang Project Office will focus on standardization, informatization and greening. Taking the creation of quality projects, construction of safe construction sites, and labor competitions as the starting points, on the one hand, we will strictly do a good job in the normalization of epidemic prevention and control, and on the other hand, we will accelerate the progress of project construction. The construction concept of Liansu, Science and Technology Liansu, and Integrity Liansu will build this project into a benchmarking demonstration model project of the Belt and Road transportation engineering.

In response to the continuous high temperature weather in recent days, the construction party adopted methods such as staggered construction and two shifts of workers to avoid high temperature periods and reasonably arrange construction time to ensure safe construction. The construction time is adjusted to 4:30 to 10:00 in the morning and 3:00 to 12:00 in the afternoon. Gao Bo, deputy general manager of Nantong Tongqiao Company and project manager of Liansu Expressway Section 3, introduced that they also increased the frequency of spraying equipment on the construction site, distributed heatstroke prevention and cooling drugs to workers, strengthened safety warning education, and prepared Huoxiang Zhengqi on the construction site. Medicines to prevent heatstroke such as water and wind essential oil, and ensure sufficient supply of heatstroke prevention and cooling materials such as drinking water and mung bean soup.

It is reported that the main construction task of the Lianyungang section of the Liansu Expressway in 2022 is to consolidate the foundation, ensure that the soft soil subgrade treatment project and more than 70% of the construction tasks of the bridge pile foundation project are basically completed, and lay the foundation for the completion of the whole line foundation bridge project next year. In the next step, the Liansu Project Office will further strengthen the organization, scientific planning, and fine-tune the construction period, increase the investment of funds, personnel and machinery and equipment, accelerate the construction of the Liansu Expressway, and ensure that the municipal party committee, municipal government and Various construction goals and tasks issued by the Provincial Communications Construction Bureau.
