On August 8, 2022, the groundbreaking ceremony of the third bid section of the Serang-Banimbang Expressway project in Indonesia, which was built with the Chinese government's preferential loan, was held in Banten Province. According to reports, Indonesian Coordinating Minister of Oceans and Investment Luhut, Minister of Engineering Basuki, Acting Governor of Banten Province Muktabar and the project construction unit China Construction Road and Bridge Indonesia representative Li Hui attended the ceremony.

The Serang-Banimbang Expressway project has a total length of 83.6 kilometers. It starts from Serang, the capital of Banten Province in the east, and reaches the Tanjung Lesong Special Economic Zone in the west. After completion, the journey from Jakarta to the Tanjung Lesong Special Economic Zone will take 5 hours. shortened to 2 hours.
