According to reports, the Lijiang River Restoration Project is the first project in Guangxi to be included in the integrated protection and restoration project of mountains, rivers, forests, fields, lakes, grass and sand during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. It was approved by the state in June 2022.

The project takes the main stream and tributaries of the Li River as the vein, the main mountain range as the skeleton, and the 12 natural protected areas such as Maoer Mountain as the ecological key points. It is divided into 3 ecological protection and restoration zones in the upper, middle and lower reaches, with a total of 14 protection and restoration units. , 83 sub-projects of 8 types of ecological protection and restoration projects were arranged, involving 5 counties, 1 city and 6 districts in the Lijiang River Basin. The project implementation period is 3 years, with a total investment of 5.491 billion yuan, including 2 billion yuan from the central government, 1.16 billion yuan from the autonomous region, 1.256 billion yuan from Guilin city and county co-ordinated financial funds, and 1.075 billion yuan from social funds.

During the implementation of the project, project owners such as Guilin Natural Resources Bureau, Guilin Forestry and Landscape Bureau will rely on relevant professional and technical qualification institutions to carry out overall protection and systematic restoration of the damaged, degraded and serviced ecosystems in the Lijiang River Basin. , comprehensive management, systematically improve the ecological environment quality of the whole basin and all elements of the Lijiang River, increase the supply of ecological products, improve the value of ecological products, realize the overall and systematic ecological protection and restoration goals of the Lijiang River basin, and promote the national "double carbon" goal. accomplish.
