On August 15, 2022, the Kaiping-Taishan section of the Guangtai Expressway, invested and constructed by Energy China Gezhouba Group as the consortium leader, was officially launched. It is reported that this is another large-scale transportation infrastructure project invested and constructed by the company in Guangdong after Zhaoming Expressway.

According to reports, the Kaiping-Taishan section of Guangtai Expressway is located in Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province, with a total investment of about 8.18 billion yuan. It is implemented in the BOT+EPC+ operating resource compensation model. The cooperation period is 29 years, of which the preparation period is 1 year and the construction period is 3 years. 25 years of operation.

The project is jointly invested and constructed by a joint venture established by China Energy Construction Gezhouba Group, Shenzhen Zhongrui Construction Engineering Group Co., Ltd., Tibet Zhizun Industrial Co., Ltd., and Guizhou Provincial Transportation Planning, Survey, Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. Energy China Gezhouba Municipal Company is responsible for the general contracted construction.

The total length of the project line is 53.39 kilometers, the design speed of the highway is 120 kilometers per hour, and the main line adopts the technical standard of two-way six-lane expressway. The bridge-tunnel ratio of the project is 29.12%, including 31 bridges with a total length of 14,389 meters and 2 tunnels with a total length of 1,160 meters. There are 7 interchanges on the whole line, 1 interchange is reserved, and 1 pair of service areas are set up.

The project connects Taishan City and Kaiping City. It is an important part of the main skeleton of the six-horizontal, six-vertical, two-connected, and one-prospect gridded expressway in the 14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of Comprehensive Transportation System in Jiangmen City. The Group's integration into the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is one of the important achievements in promoting the interconnection of Jiangmen's infrastructure and improving the comprehensive transportation network.
