Micro-centers gather commercial and industrial functions

At the end of 2022, the first phase of the Changping Line's southern extension is expected to be fully operational, and the Xueqing Road Station of the line will become a "micro-center". "A subway station is no longer just a subway station. The rail micro-center will gather more urban functions such as business and industry, and become a dynamic center that the surrounding citizens are willing to go to, realizing the integration of the station and the city." Since participating in the design of the "Micro Center" of Xueqing Road Station in 2019, the integrated design team has communicated with the surrounding development and operation units for hundreds of times, in order to make the station "integrate" with the surrounding buildings. The north side of Xueqing Road Station is adjacent to an industrial land of Xueyuan Road Science and Technology Park. According to Yang Jingtao, the main body of the station and the subway supporting service space extending to the north directly connect the subway station to the four plots in the micro-center area, allowing rail transit to directly connect education, scientific research, commercial services, Residential and other functional land; there are not only open shops but also open sunken squares on the shared underground city corridor.

In the east of Beijing, the ongoing construction of Line 22 (Pinggu Line) will further guide the adjustment of urban spatial structure and gather urban functions. Pinggu Station, Machangying Station, Mafang Station, Yongshun Station, and Dongdaqiao Station of Line 22 have been preliminarily identified as orbital micro-centers. The construction of "micro-centers" can also make up for the shortcomings of the convenience of the surrounding areas. About 5,000 square meters of convenient service facilities will be set up in the Canal Business District Station and Pinggu Station of Line 22 respectively. In addition, the Hebei section and Pinggu section of the line will consider setting up P+R parking lots at 5 stations to improve the level of transportation connection services.

Stimulate regional vitality with two stations and one interval

The reporter noticed that the number of station entrances and exits has been significantly increased in the new round of subway lines being planned and constructed in this city. "The increase in the number of entrances and exits means that the subway station has more direct access and wider coverage, which not only facilitates citizens' travel, but also gathers more urban functions." said the relevant person in charge of the Municipal Development and Reform Commission.

There are more than 20 entrances and exits in the "two stations and one section" of Beixin'an Station and Xinshougang Station of Line 11, and the underground space slow-moving system directly reaches nearly 20 surrounding plots, maximizing the vitality of urban space. "Two stations and one section" will make full use of the inherent advantages of unified planning and development of the surrounding plots, and based on the urban design of the New Shougang North District, maximize the impact of the subway on the surrounding plots.

According to the planning scheme, the two stations with a distance of about 800 meters will realize the integration of planning, transportation, municipal administration, function and landscape. Unlike the previous subway stations where only tunnels were set up, there will also be an "underground shopping street" above the tunnel between the two stations.

The integration of four networks makes transportation more convenient

The sub-center station of the city that Line 22 passes through, a super hub is rising from the ground. This station will realize "four networks integration": in addition to the already constructed Line 6, the Pinggu Line under construction, the M101 Line to be built and other subway lines, there are also railway lines such as the Jingtang Intercity Railway. Fengtai Station, the city's largest comprehensive passenger transport hub, will also build a "four-network integration" model, forming a three-dimensional transportation hub integrating high-speed railway, general-speed railway, regional express line, subway general line and subway express line.
