Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan strengthen cooperation in various fields

Aliyev said that the two sides can jointly implement investment projects, develop cooperation in the field of transportation and logistics infrastructure construction, and expand the volume of cargo transportation between the two countries.

It is worth mentioning that 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. Thirty years ago, on August 27, 1992, Ha-A officially established diplomatic relations. At present, Azerbaijan has become Kazakhstan's main economic and trade partner in the South Caucasus.

Kazakh President Tokayev arrived in Azerbaijan's capital Baku on the 24th and held a meeting with the country's President Aliyev. Aliyev held a grand welcoming ceremony for Tokayev's visit in front of his presidential residence.

After the meeting, Tokayev first thanked Aliyev for inviting him to make an official visit to the country.

Tokayev awarded Aliyev Kazakhstan's highest honor - the Order of the Golden Eagle

According to a report by the Kazakhstan News Agency on the 24th, Tokayev signed an order to award Aliyev the Golden Eagle Medal in recognition of the latter's outstanding contributions to promoting political, economic and cultural relations between the two countries. Tokayev said the two sides held fruitful small-scale talks.

“In Kazakhstan, you are well known and respected as an outstanding statesman. At the same time, as the man who brought Azerbaijan to a historic victory and restored its territorial integrity in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions, I would like to address today in our personal meeting You congratulated you. Presidents of the two countries hold large-scale talks

During the large-scale talks, Tokayev and Aliyev discussed the main issues of strategic cooperation between the two countries, and focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of politics, economy, trade, transportation and people-to-people and cultural engagement.

"We had fruitful talks in small-scale talks and had an in-depth exchange of views on development issues in all areas of bilateral cooperation. Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are strategic partners and allied countries. Today, we will sign the strengthening of strategic cooperative relations and deepening of Joint Statement of Alliance," Tokayev said.

Tokayev said bilateral trade volume has nearly tripled in recent years. However, the two sides have huge potential for cooperation. Therefore, the two governments should work closely together to increase the bilateral trade volume to US$1 billion.

Tokayev said that the two countries have broad potential for cooperation in the field of culture. He pointed out that the Kazakh people have a strong interest in Azerbaijani culture. Therefore, Kazakhstan hopes to invite representatives of Azerbaijan's literary and art circles to hold Azerbaijan Culture Day in Kazakhstan next year.

Aliyev stressed that he believes that the meeting is of great significance to the future development of bilateral relations. Aliyev said that Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are vigorously promoting the development of transportation infrastructure. The two countries have huge potential for cooperation in the field of transportation, which will bring new impetus to the development of bilateral economic and trade cooperation. At the same time, the two sides are expected to further increase bilateral trade volume and strengthen investment cooperation.

Finally, Aliyev said that a main street in Sumgait was officially named after the famous Kazakh educator and linguist Ahmet Baitulsenov. The two countries signed 10 cooperation documents

Under the framework of Tokayev's visit, the two countries signed a total of 10 cooperation documents.

The 10 cooperation documents signed by Kazakhstan and Afghanistan are:

- Declaration between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Azerbaijan on strengthening strategic relations and deepening alliance interaction;

- Comprehensive plan for the development of cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Azerbaijan (2022-2026);

- Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of Azerbaijan on economic and trade cooperation;

- Program of cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan (2023-2024);

- Program of cultural cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan (2022-205);

- Protocol on the establishment of fraternal relations between the city of Turkestan in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the city of Shusha in the Republic of Azerbaijan;

- Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan;

- Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan on cooperation in the fields of information, communication and high technology;

- Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of transport between the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan;

- Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan on cooperation in the field of transport of goods in transit.

Presidents of the two countries hold joint press conference

On the same day, Tokayev and Aliyev held a joint press conference on the results of the bilateral meeting.

Tokayev said: "According to the UN Security Council Charter and resolutions, Azerbaijan has successfully restored its territorial integrity and entered a new era of development. Of course, the leader of the brotherly country of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has a huge credit for this. I would like to take this opportunity to once again commend Azerbaijan for the great achievements under your leadership. We have followed these processes closely and are sincerely pleased. We have seen the recovery and development of Karabakh and East Zanzur. I believe, With your efforts, the region will be more prosperous in the future."

Tokayev said that the two countries have established strategic partnership and alliance cooperation. According to the outcome of today's talks, the two sides signed a joint statement to further strengthen strategic and alliance cooperation. Tokayev thanked Azerbaijan for its support for Kazakhstan's initiative to convene the CICA summit and invited Aliyev to attend the summit in Nur-Sultan in October 2022.
