On August 25, 2022, the Dazhuang Tunnel, the first high-risk double-track long tunnel built by the China Railway 11th Bureau, was successfully completed.

The newly built Jinyong Railway is located in the central and eastern part of Zhejiang Province. The project scope is from Yiwu Station of Shanghai-Kunming Railway to Yunlong Station of Yongtaiwen Railway. The new main line has a total length of 188.301 kilometers and a design speed of 160 kilometers per hour. The speed conditions of 200 kilometers per hour are reserved. It is an important node project to implement the integrated development strategy of the Yangtze River Delta.

This tunnel is located in Xinchang County and Shengzhou City, Shaoxing City. The tunnel is 5,795 meters long. It is a double-lane tunnel. Many places pass through houses, reservoirs, ditches, roads and ancient buildings. The shallowest depth is only 1.9 meters.

After 800 days and nights of hard work, the project builders have successively overcome construction problems such as ventilation of long tunnels, difficult drainage of surrounding rocks with water-rich reverse slopes, underpassing of houses and buildings, many shallow buried sections, and soft rock deformation. A number of key technologies, such as the initial support shotcrete over-consumption technology for weak diagenetic tunnels, ensure the tunnel's safety and high-quality penetration.

Nine stations, Yunlong, Fenghua, Xikou, Xinchang, Shengzhou, Nanshan Lake, Hulu, Dongyang and Suxi will be set up along the Jinyong Railway. It is of great significance to connect the Silk Road Economic Belt and the Maritime Silk Road.Editor/Ma Xue
