German energy company RWE has acquired Polish photovoltaic development company Alpha Solar, which has a 3GW pipeline of utility-scale solar projects. Headquartered in Warsaw, Alpha Solar employs experts throughout the solar development process, from land acquisition to construction preparation. The company has three local offices in Inoroclaw, Lodz and Rzeszow. Most of its projects are currently in various stages of development in Poland.

RWE said the deal will add to its existing 10GW solar development pipeline and strengthen its renewable energy business in Poland. Under the agreement, approximately 60 Alpha Solar employees will join RWE. The country offers a good location for solar power plants. We warmly welcome our new colleagues at RWE. Together with the existing team, we are well positioned to implement this large-scale project in the coming years.

Markus Krebber, CEO of RWE, said that with the acquisition of Alpha Solar, we are expanding our presence in Poland, one of our key markets and leading positions in solar energy.

Joining RWE's experienced development team and attractive project pipeline is a perfect match for our existing business. RWE is already one of the world's leading renewable energy companies and this transaction underscores our ambitions for rapid, sustainable growth. Keywords: engineering news, overseas news
In another development, RWE has decided to replace the 1.8MW wind turbines at its Lengerich wind farm in Emsland, Germany, with 5.7MW turbines. The move will expand the wind farm's ability to provide clean energy to about 4,000 homes, four times its current output.Editor/XingWentao
