On September 1, 2022, the main project of restoration and renovation of the two tunnels and one bridge of the Lanxin high-speed railway damaged by the earthquake was successfully completed, and the Haomen-Zhangye section of the Lanxin high-speed railway between Gansu and Qinghai provinces returned to normal operating conditions.

From September 1st, train tickets D4934 and D4932 from Jiuquan, Jiayuguan and Zhangye in the Hexi Corridor area of Gansu to Lanzhou West can be purchased on the 12306 railway ticketing software. According to reports, on January 8, 2022, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.9 occurred in Menyuan Hui Autonomous County, Qinghai Province, causing traffic interruptions in the Lanxin high-speed rail section. On March 24, after detailed investigation and scientific evaluation and demonstration, the railway department began to implement the in-situ restoration and renovation project of the Daliang Tunnel and the Qilian Mountain Tunnel, and the reconstruction project of the Lishuanggou Bridge.

The restoration construction site is located on a plateau with an altitude of 3,600 to 3,800 meters. The outdoor temperature is low, the average wind force is above level 4, the air oxygen content is only 55% of that in the plain area, the temperature difference between day and night is large, and the effective construction time is short. The original planned construction period of the project was 8 months. The participating construction units overcame the unfavorable conditions and worked 24 hours a day to complete the project ahead of schedule.

It is reported that at present, the Lanxin high-speed railway has been successfully completed, such as tracks, bridges, tunnels, and natural disaster monitoring systems in the area damaged by the earthquake. Editor/He Yuting
