Galina is a gantry crane driver. At the dry port of the "Khorgos-Dongdaemun" special economic zone on the border between China and Kazakhstan, she controls a giant gantry crane to send containers one by one to a new journey.

"Whether it rains, hail or snow, there is always fresh air here." Sitting high in the cockpit, Galina felt comfortable.

She said that over the years, the volume of cargo at the dry port has become larger and larger, and more and more people have come to work here. Whether it is hoisting and changing rails, grouping of trains, or customs clearance of goods, everything is in order.

The "Khorgos-Dongdamen" special economic zone dry port is jointly invested and constructed by China and Kazakhstan. It is connected with the China-Kazakhstan Lianyungang Logistics Cooperation Base to connect a new Asia-Europe land-sea combined transport channel. Thanks to this, Kazakhstan, the world's largest landlocked country, not only has a direct "outlet" to the Pacific Ocean, but has also become an important transportation hub connecting Asia and Europe.Editor/Ma Xue
