On September 15, 2022, the feasibility study report of Yuxi (Yimen) to Kunming (Jinning) Expressway was approved by Yunnan Provincial Development and Reform Commission, which marked the preliminary work of Yuxi (Yimen) to Kunming (Jinning) Expressway achieve substantial breakthroughs.

Yuxi to Kunming Expressway

According to reports, the Yuxi (Yimen) to Kunming (Jinning) Expressway starts near the Meizeng Reservoir on the south side of Yimen County, Yuxi City, and the Yimen Junction is connected to the Wuyi Expressway, ending at Xianhe Village, an ancient town in Jinning District. Nearby, Jinning hub is set up to connect with G5601 Kunming Ring Expressway. The main line has a total length of 44.652 kilometers, a subgrade width of 33.5 meters, two-way six lanes, a design speed of 100 km/h, and a road-I level of vehicle load. There are 29 bridges, 7 tunnels and 5 interchanges, with an estimated investment of 12.46 billion yuan. Main control points: Meizeng Reservoir, Pahe, Yangxingzhuang, Bajie Town, Erjie Town, Jinning Ancient City, Huancheng South Road, etc.

Yuxi (Yimen) to Kunming (Jinning) Expressway is one of the interconnection projects of county-level expressways in Yunnan Province. It is a trunk expressway from Yimen County to Jinning District, Kunming City. After completion, it will be of great significance to promote the coordinated development of Yimen County and the core area of Central Yunnan, and to enhance the competitiveness of the Central Yunnan Economic Circle.
