Solarever, a Mexican photovoltaic module manufacturer, has announced plans to invest $1 billion to build a photovoltaic module production plant in Zacoalcode Torres, Jalisco.

In another development, Brazilian PV system supplier Sengi Solar announced an investment of 440 million reais for the construction of two PV module production plants in the states of Paraná and Pernambuco.

The two production plants have a combined annual capacity of 1GW. The investments are expected to create around 500 jobs in the two regions, with one plant at Sengi Solar’s headquarters in Cascavelle, Paraná, scheduled to start operations in September this year, and another in Ipojuca’s headquarters. The PV modules produced by these production plants are rated at 4400W to 670W and will be manufactured using double-sided and double-glass technology.
