From September 8 to 9, 2022, the General Institute of Hydropower and Water Conservancy Planning and Design hosted a review meeting on the feasibility study report of the first phase of the Wanning floating offshore wind power pilot project of 1 million kilowatts in Beijing.

The Wanning floating offshore wind power 1 million kilowatt pilot project is a key implementation project of the "14th Five-Year Plan" for offshore wind power in Hainan Province. The project is located in the eastern sea area of Wanning City, Hainan Province. It is planned to be constructed in two phases: the first phase has an installed capacity of 200,000 kW, It is planned to be completed and connected to the grid by the end of 2025; the installed capacity of the second phase of the project is 800,000 kW, and it is planned to be completed and connected to the grid by the end of 2027.

The meeting listened to the report of the report preparation unit, and held discussions and deliberation in professional groups. The review concluded that the report met the requirements for the content and depth of the survey and design work in the feasibility study stage, and basically agreed with the report. Leaders and experts present at the meeting put forward suggestions for optimization and improvement of the project design plan.

From the perspective of the world's offshore wind power construction and planning, in recent years, the development of offshore wind power has shown the characteristics of far-reaching, large-scale and clustered development. European offshore wind power represented by Norway and the United Kingdom has taken the lead in deploying floating offshore wind power. The "14th Five-Year Plan" period is a key opportunity period for China's offshore wind power development. As an important direction for China's far-reaching offshore wind power development, the development of floating offshore wind power is still in the stage of prototype testing and demonstration, and key technologies and engineering economy are in urgent need of breakthroughs. The successful holding of this project technical proposal review meeting will lay a solid foundation for the first phase of the Power Construction Group project to start construction at the end of the year and put into operation at the end of the "14th Five-Year Plan", and promote the commercialization and large-scale development of China's floating offshore wind power. have a positive meaning.
