On September 24, 2022, the Lianhuasi Tunnel Group, the Linzhen Tunnel and the Rouyuan Tunnel of the G671 Taihua Project, which were included in the national highway network medium and long-term planning, the 14th Five-Year Plan for Highways of the Ministry of Transport and the 14th Five-Year Highway and Waterway Development Plan of Gansu Province , Shanzhuang Tunnel started construction, which marks the Taihua project has entered the substantive construction stage.

Taihua Highway Project

According to reports, the Taihua Highway project was constructed by the Gansu Provincial Communications Construction Group, with a total investment of 10.217 billion yuan and a total length of 74.2 kilometers. It starts from the west side of Taibai Town, Heshui County, and connects with the G22 Qinglan Expressway by an interchange, and runs eastward through Lotus. Si Reservoir, Donghuachi Village, Linzhen Township, Jiuzhiyaokou, Shanzhuang Township, and Liuwan Village end at the north of Shizuizi Village, Huachi County, and are connected with the under-construction Jingliang-Qingcheng Highway at a hub interchange.

Taihua highway project adopts the technical standard of two-way four-lane first-class highway, with a design speed of 80 km/h and a construction period of 3 years.

In the future, after the completion of the first-class highway from Heshui (Taibai) to Huachi, it will play a positive role in consolidating the achievements of poverty alleviation and realizing rural revitalization. At the same time, this project will also realize the close connection between Nanliang and Shaanxi Wuqi, Zhidan, Yan'an and other places, forming a red tourism circle in Shaanxi and Gansu, which will further promote the development of Qingyang tourism.
