After eight days of intensive construction, Shuangliu Yangtze River Bridge on Hubei Xingang Expressway completed the pouring of the first main tower pile foundation on October 8, 2022, marking the commencement of the construction of this 1430m steel box girder suspension bridge and its connection project. This bridge is also the 12th Yangtze River Bridge in Wuhan.

Shuangliu Yangtze River Bridge is located in the lower reaches of Wuhan. The north bank of the bridge is located in Xinzhou District, Wuhan City, and the south bank is located in Huarong District, Ezhou City. The design speed is 120 kilometers per hour. Among them, the main bridge is a double tower single span steel box girder suspension bridge with a main span of 1430 meters, which is jointly constructed by China Railway Bridge Bureau Group Co., Ltd. and CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd.

Liu Runze, Chief Engineer of Shuangliu Yangtze River Bridge Project of China Railway Bridge Bureau, said that the main span of the entire Shuangliu Yangtze River Bridge is a steel box girder suspension bridge with a span of 1430 meters across the river. The characteristics of the bridge project are large, wide, high, new and large, mainly referring to our large span. The width mainly refers to the width of our bridge deck. The width of our main beam is 50.5 meters, and the entire two-way 8-lane expressway is used for traffic. It is the widest steel box girder suspension bridge on the Yangtze River.Editor/Ma Xue
