In order to avoid sandstorms, my father took the whole family to move nine times, until they couldn't move; In order to control the sandstorm, he took his family back to the village with the largest sandstorm and vowed to fight it to the end! In his life, he had an inseparable relationship with sand. He was Shi Guangyin, the first Chinese sand control hero since the founding of New China.

Shi Guangyin, a native of Dingbian County, Shaanxi Province, has devoted most of his time and energy from youth to his old age to the cause of desertification control. He was born in Tongtonggan Gedadao Village, Yuanhaiziliang Township, Dingbian County, which is located in the southern edge of Maowusu Desert. The wind sweeping the yellow sand and blocking the sun is the most common scene in Shi Guangyin's childhood memory.Editor/Ma Xue
