The power station is located in Huangcheng Town, Sunan County, with an installed capacity of 1.4 million kW, a total investment of 11.3 billion yuan, a rated water head of 547m, and the installation of four 350MW reversible pump turbine electric generating units. The designed annual power generation and annual pumping consumption are 1.637 billion kWh and 2.183 billion kWh, respectively. It can pay the local tax of 150 million yuan every year, and drive the local employment of nearly 3,000 people. Every year, it can save about 856,400 tons of standard coal for Gansu power grid, reduce about 2,576 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions, about 9,592 tons of sulfur dioxide emissions, about 225 tons of carbon monoxide emissions, and about 9,900 tons of nitrogen dioxide emissions.
