On the morning of October 31, 2022, the Shandong Provincial Government held a mobilization meeting for the commencement of the Dongying Yellow River Highway and Railway Bridge on the Tianjin Weifang High speed Railway, marking the official entry into the construction phase of the Dongying Yellow River Highway and Railway Bridge, the controlling project of the Tianjin Weifang High speed Railway.

The Tianjin Weifang high-speed railway is an important part of the Beijing Shanghai channel and coastal channel in the national eight vertical and eight horizontal high-speed railway network. The Shandong Section of Tianjin Weifang High speed Railway is 223 kilometers long, with a total investment of 41.5 billion yuan and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It passes through 4 cities and 10 counties (cities and districts) in Dongying, Weifang, Dezhou and Binzhou, Shandong Province, benefiting 16 million people along the line, and has five stations, Wudi, Binzhou, Dongying South, Shouguang East and Weifang North.

The Shandong Section of Tianjin Weifang High speed Railway is the third high-speed railway project to be started in Shandong Province in 2022. The construction of Shandong Section of Xiongshang High speed Railway and Jinan Connecting Line of Tianjin Weifang High speed Railway (Jibin High speed Railway) has commenced on September 29, 2022 and September 30, 2022 respectively.Editor/Ma Xue
