As a zero-carbon energy carrier, hydrogen energy has attracted more and more attention. On October 31, 2022, Shenzhen Energy announced that the board of directors of the company reviewed and approved the "proposal on the investment and construction of the photovoltaic hydrogen Production project in Etok Qianqi, Ordos City, Shanghai Temple Economic Development Zone", the company's wholly-owned subsidiary Shenneng North Energy Holding Co., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as: Shenneng North (Etok Qianqi) Energy Development Co., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as Etok Qianqi), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Northern Holding Company, intends to invest in the construction of photovoltaic hydrogen Production Project in Shanghai Temple Economic Development Zone, Etok Qianqi, Ordos City (hereinafter referred to as: Photovoltaic hydrogen production project), the project plans to build a 250 MW ground photovoltaic centralized power station, supporting the construction of a hydrogenation and hydrogenation integration station and corresponding hydrogen energy storage and transportation equipment. The total investment of the photovoltaic hydrogen production project is RMB 1,571,961,600 yuan, of which its own capital is RMB 317 million yuan, and the remaining investment is to be solved through financing.

It is reported that the project focuses on logistics transportation and green and low-carbon development needs of the chemical industry in Shanghai Temple Energy and Chemical Base of Etok Qianqi, and plans to build a comprehensive hydrogen energy supply station that integrates hydrogen production, hydrogenation, hydrogen charging and hydrogen storage functions. The designed annual hydrogen capacity of the project is 6,000 tons.

The project is expected to be connected to the grid in 2023, and will replace about 116,000 tons of standard coal for coal-fired power generation every year, reduce about 310,000 tons of carbon dioxide, and create about 200 jobs for local residents. It is of great significance to promote the implementation of the dual control target of energy consumption in Ordos City, achieve the target of the weight of renewable energy consumption, improve people's livelihood and expand employment, and promote the high-quality development of regional economy.
