This time, the construction of Huangmei Ziyunshan pumped storage power station, with a total investment of 10.58 billion yuan, planned total installed capacity of 1.4 million kW. The upper reservoir of the power station is located in Kuzhu Township, Huangmei County, and the lower reservoir is located in Wuzu Town, with the planned construction period of 69 months, which is invested by State Grid Xinyuan Holding Co., LTD.

Huangmei Ziyunshan Pumped storage Power Station project is the largest single investment industrial project in Huangmei County since the founding of the People's Republic of China. After its completion, it mainly undertakes the tasks of peak regulation, valley filling, energy storage, frequency modulation, phase modulation and emergency backup of Hubei power system. The project only took six and a half months to complete the feasibility of 29 special reports and all the approval items, creating a Huangmei speed, after the completion of the annual tax will exceed 150 million yuan.

At present, two pumped storage power stations have been built and operated in Hubei Province, namely, Bailianhe pumped storage power station with an installed capacity of 1.2 million kW and Tiantang Pumped storage Power Station with a capacity of 70,000 kw. Pingyuan pumped storage Power Station is under construction, both in Luotian County, Huanggang City. Ziyunshan pumped storage power station is the fourth project of its kind in Huanggang. The city is making an all-out effort to build a clean energy base in central China, and has signed contracts for several proposed pumped storage projects in places such as Tuanfeng and Qichun.
