Omega Energia, headquartered in Brazil, is currently developing what will become the world's largest solar energy project. It has not disclosed its investment in the 4.6 GW Kuara Solar Park, which will have 8 million solar modules from an undisclosed manufacturer.
The environmental commission of the state of Ceara met this week to discuss the environmental permit for the project and decided to postpone its final decision to December 1. It noted that a member of the Brazilian Bar Association requested a visit to the project site before the vote.

Omega Energy will sell some of its electricity to Fortescue, an Australian iron ore producer. The company plans to build an industrial green hydrogen production plant in the port of Pessam, about 200 kilometers from the solar project site.
So far, the two largest photovoltaic parks in the world are under construction in China. State owned C Shina Huadian is under construction in 3.3. GW Solar Park is located in Changdu, Sichuan Province. A second 3GW solar power installation is also planned for Zhongwei in Ningxia Hui region of China.Editor/Xing Wentao
