Recently, Yangma intercity (Anhui section) and a new progress. On November 10, 2022, according to the Hefei Development and Reform Commission, the Development and Reform Commission of Anhui Province recently approved the feasibility study report of the Yangzhou-Maanshan Railway (Anhui section), laying an important foundation for the project to start construction as soon as possible.

According to the approval of the feasibility study report, the Yangzhou-Maanshan Railway (Anhui section) runs from Danyang Town in Maanshan City, Jiangsu Province, west through Bowang District and Yushan district of Maanshan City, and ends at Maanshan South Station of Chaohu-Maanshan Railway, with a normal line length of 22.47 kilometers. Liaison lines will be set up and introduced into Ningan intercity Railway Dangtu East Station. The upstream and downstream liaison lines will be 11.05 kilometers, and Bowang North Station will be built.

According to the person in charge of infrastructure development Office of Hefei Development and Reform Commission, the construction of the project is of great significance for promoting the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, building an important auxiliary railway corridor from Hefei to Shanghai, and forming a great connection between Hefei-Ma 'anshan-Yangzhou and Hefei-Ma 'anshan-Shanghai.
