On November 12, 2022, Guangzhou Public Resources Network announced the successful candidates for the civil works of the reconstruction and expansion project of Jieyang Xinheng Meizhou Yujiang Section of Shantou Kunming Expressway and Meizhou Chengjiang Yujiang Section of Meizhou Shantou Expressway. The project was awarded by China Railway Bridge Bureau Group and CCCC Road and Bridge Construction Co., Ltd. The estimated total investment of the project is 14.234 billion yuan.

Project overview

The reconstruction and expansion projects of Jieyang Xinheng Meizhou Yujiang Section of Shantou Kunming Expressway and Meizhou Chengjiang Yujiang Section of Meizhou Shantou Expressway are part of the "vertical second line" in the Planning of Guangdong Expressway Network (2020-2035). The reconstruction and expansion of the project started from the interchange of Jieyang hub with S17 Jiepu Huizhou Expressway, passing through Jiedong District of Jieyang City, Fengshun County and Meixian District of Meizhou City, and finally with G25 Changsheng Expressway S12 Chengjiang hub interchange at the intersection of Meilong Expressway. Among them, the section from Jieyang Xinheng to Meizhou Shejiang is 59.863km, and the section from Meizhou Chengjiang to Shejiang is 27.701km, with a total mileage of about 87.564km.
