On November 15, 2022, Shenzhen Metro and AVIC International held the signing ceremony of the Egypt Railway Phase III Project Cooperation Agreement in the Metro Building.

At the signing ceremony, Shenzhen Metro and AVIC International jointly reviewed the good cooperation and exchange relationship they have always maintained. The two sides expressed their hope to take the Egyptian railway project as an opportunity, continue to deepen the implementation of the national the Belt and Road initiative through strong cooperation and complementary advantages, carry out international economic and technological cooperation in a wider range, broader fields and at a higher level, and promote the two sides to share development opportunities on the market-oriented and internationalized development path to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.

The 10th Ramadan City Railway Project in Egypt is the fourth overseas project officially launched by Shenzhen Railway Group, and it is also one of the landmark projects for China and Egypt to jointly build the the Belt and Road.

This signing is another close cooperation achievement jointly promoted on the basis of the Egypt Railway Project Operation and Maintenance and Comprehensive Development Framework Agreement signed by Shenzhen Metro and AVIC International China Railway Consortium in 2016, and the Operation Supervision Service Contract, Joint Commissioning and Test Service Contract and Maintenance Contract signed by Shenzhen Metro in 2019, 2021 and 2022 respectively. It is also a result of Shenzhen Metro's implementation of the "going global" strategy, and its exploration of marketization Another successful example of international projects.
