The German government decided to cooperate with the private sector to build a green ammonia import terminal in Hamburg. From 2026, the terminal will import green ammonia from Saudi Arabia. Air Products will produce ammonia and distribute it to end users in Germany, mainly for conversion to hydrogen. This is a strong signal for the entire hydrogen market in Germany and Europe, said Robert Habak, the Federal Minister for Economy and Climate Protection. The terminal will be built at the existing oil tank terminal of Mabanaft at Hamburg Port.

The International Renewable Energy Agency said in its latest report that several major industrial countries in G-7 support the use of hydrogen for light fuel cell vehicles, power generation and residential heating. Although hydrogen has great potential, it must be remembered that its production, transportation and conversion require energy and large investment, IRENA said. Therefore, indiscriminate use of hydrogen may slow down the energy transition. Governments should set clear priorities to avoid waste. These priorities include existing hydrogen applications, basic chemicals, primary steel production, shipping and aviation.

Masdar and his consortium partners have signed a framework agreement with several Egyptian state supported organizations to develop a 2 GW green hydrogen project in the Suez Canal Economic Zone. Their goal is to achieve 4 GW of electrolytic cell capacity and 480000 tons of green hydrogen output by 2030. Egypt also signed the second agreement with AMEA Power to deploy a 1 GW green hydrogen energy project, as well as several other agreements, bringing the total value of its plan to 85 billion US dollars. In addition, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development said it would lend 80 million dollars to develop Egypt's first green hydrogen energy facility.

Ballard Power has signed a purchase order for 25 hydrogen fuel cell engines with Solaris Bus&Coach, a repeat customer. Ballard Power Company, headquartered in Vancouver, said that 70 kilowatt fuel cells will be installed on 12 Solaris Urbano hydrogen buses and will be sent to MPK Pozna, a Polish public transport operator, in the second half of 2023 ń 。 The European Investment Bank has signed a joint statement with Namibia, which may provide up to 500 million euros of loans for renewable energy hydrogen and renewable energy investment.Editor/Xing Wentao
