On the morning of November 23, 2022, the unveiling ceremony of Datang Hainan Offshore Wind Power Investment and Development Co., Ltd. was held in Yangpu, Danzhou. This marks the beginning of a new chapter for Datang Hainan Energy Development Co., Ltd. in the high-quality development of green energy in Hainan.

It is understood that Datang Hainan Offshore Wind Power Investment and Development Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Datang Hainan, completed its registration in Yangpu Economic Development Zone on November 18, with a registered capital of 200 million yuan. The business scope covers wind power generation technology services, wind farm related system research and development, offshore wind power related system research and development, energy storage technology services, electrical equipment repair, solar power generation technology services, new energy technology research and development, etc.

The company's total investment in offshore wind power projects is 14.6 billion yuan. The project is located in the Beibu Gulf sea area in the northwest of Danzhou City, Hainan Province, with a total installed capacity of 1.2 million kilowatts. Two 220 kilovolt offshore booster stations and one onshore centralized control center will be constructed. The first batch of the project is expected to be put into operation in 2024, and it will become a benchmark project of offshore wind power integrating offshore wind power training center, R&D center, regional maintenance center, large parts reserve center, etc. After the completion of the project, 3.66 billion kWh of electricity can be generated on the grid every year, 1.1 million tons of standard coal can be saved, 2.87 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced, 23000 tons of sulfur dioxide emissions can be reduced, and 13000 tons of nitrogen oxide emissions can be reduced. The project has significant environmental benefits and is of great significance for optimizing the energy structure, ensuring energy security, and promoting economic development.

It is understood that this project is the largest offshore wind power project of China Datang Group, and also a demonstration project of offshore wind power in Hainan Province. On April 13 this year, the project obtained the opinions of the Provincial Development and Reform Commission on agreeing to carry out the preliminary work. It only took 179 days to obtain the approval reply, which is the shortest demonstration project approved for offshore wind power in Hainan Province.
