On November 24, 2022, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Alexander Zaparov said that the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway will begin in the fall of 2023. "The technical feasibility of the project will be completed by April 2023 and construction can begin in the autumn," Parov said at the parliamentary session.

The Kyrgyz government previously notified that the new railway corridor will be the southern branch of the Eurasian Land Bridge, opening access to markets in Southeast Asia, West Asia and the Middle East. The line will ensure the movement of goods from China to Kyrgyzstan, as well as to Central Asia and the Middle East, including Turkey, and into the European Union. Due to the reduction of freight distance and time, the project will increase the competitiveness of Kyrgyz in the international transit transport market. Editor/Xu Shengpeng
