Kenya's urban population accounts for 22% of the total population and is growing at an annual rate of 4.2%. The rapidly growing urban population has put forward more demands for housing. According to a housing survey report released by the Kenyan government, Kenya suffers from an annual housing shortage of more than 200000 units. In order to solve the housing problem of low-income people, the Nairobi Park Road affordable housing project came into being.

The Nairobi Park Road affordable housing project undertaken by CSCEC is the first affordable housing project committed by the Kenyan government to improve the people's livelihood, covering an area of 32000 square meters, with a building area of 123000 square meters, including 1370 housing units and related supporting infrastructure.Edit/Ma Xue
