Recently, Huaxia Power Investment Smart Energy Co., Ltd. and Zigong Da'an District Government held a symposium and the signing ceremony of the 600 MW compressed air salt cavern energy storage demonstration project in Da'an. The project will promote the independent innovation level of Zigong's energy storage industry, lead the construction and development of smart grid in a low-carbon and green direction, and have important social and economic value for promoting the clean transformation of Zigong's energy structure.

The project is located in Dashanpu Railway Logistics Park, with a planned total investment of 5.8 billion yuan and a total land area of about 200 mu. The project will be constructed in two phases, mainly including 600 MW compressed air energy storage, supporting facilities, booster stations, delivery works and management rooms.

What benefits can the project bring to Da'an economy? Tang Xiaohua, Deputy Secretary of Da'an District Committee and District Head of Da'an District Government, mentioned that the introduction and implementation of the project is conducive to driving Da'an economic growth, expanding the investment volume, and providing various services such as peak shaving, black start, demand response, etc. for the operation of Zigong power grid, effectively realizing peak shaving and valley filling of the grid, relieving the pressure of peak power supply, and improving the efficiency, safety and economy of conventional energy power generation and transmission. Da'an District will always adhere to the concept of "everything is around the enterprise, everything is for the enterprise, and everything serves the enterprise", set up a special project team, continue to promote the implementation of cooperation matters, and work hard to provide the most convenient, efficient and considerate services for the enterprise. Da'an District has unique salt cavern resource conditions, large available space, good gas tightness of salt caverns, and excellent geographical conditions and element guarantee for the Shiyan cavern energy storage project.
