On November 27, at the construction site of Section TJ2 of Chongqing Yuxiang Double Track Expressway (Pengshui Youyang Section), with the successful delivery of the last truck of concrete, the No. 4 main pier of Mozhai Wujiang Super Major Bridge surveyed and designed by CREEC was successfully capped, marking a new breakthrough in the control project of Chongqing Hunan Double Track Expressway, which also means that the bridge has officially entered the superstructure construction stage.

Chongqing Yuxiang Double Track (Pengshui Youyang Section) Expressway is 91.58km long, with bridges and tunnels accounting for 74%. Mozhai Wujiang Bridge starts at Maobiliang, Pingyuan Village, Hanjia Town, Pengshui, crosses the Wujiang River and crosses G211 National Highway, and ends at the entrance of Mozhai Tunnel. It is a control project along the whole line, with a total length of 708 meters. The main bridge is located on a curve, using a (153+296+153) meter two-way four lane low tower cable-stayed bridge, and a continuous rigid frame system. The main bridge tower adopts rectangular reinforced concrete bridge tower, with the main tower height of 44.0m and tower end modeling height of 13.5m. The main pier is a single limb variable cross-section hollow thin-walled pier, the maximum pier height is 216 meters, and the maximum height from the tower top to the ground is 287.6 meters.

The No. 3 and No. 4 main piers of Mozhai Wujiang River Super Major Bridge are 216 meters and 185 meters high, respectively. They are the first low pylon cable-stayed bridge with high piers in Asia. The bridge construction is technically demanding and difficult. The capping of No. 4 main pier is 185m high, which is equivalent to the height of 65 floors. The hydraulic climbing formwork construction of No. 3 main pier is under way, with a sprint of 216m. It is expected to be capped in early December, laying the foundation for the cantilever construction of the upper main beam in the next step, so as to ensure that the expected goal of the controlled project can be achieved with high quality on schedule.

After the completion of Chongqing Yuxiang Double Line (Pengshui Youyang Section) Expressway, it will form a fast Chongqing sea passage, connecting Pengshui County and Youyang County at the same time. In terms of road network radiation function, it will serve as a branch to each other with G65 Baotou Maoming Expressway and Youyang Yanhe Expressway, forming a regional expressway loop. It plays an important role in building people's livelihood highways, tourism highways and poverty relief highways, and is of great significance in improving the traffic conditions in southeast Chongqing and north Guizhou, accelerating the interconnection and networking construction of trunk national and provincial highways, and promoting the economic development of areas along the project.
