On December 1, 2022, Guangdong Electric Power Development Co., Ltd. announced that in order to accelerate the development of new energy, increase the proportion of clean energy and optimize the power supply structure, the wholly-owned subsidiary Yuedian Shache Comprehensive Energy Co., Ltd. will be the main investor to invest in the construction of the 2 million kilowatt optical storage integration project in Shache County, Guangdong Energy, with a total investment of 12.91 billion yuan.

The site of Guangdong Energy Shache County 2000000kW Optical Storage Integration Project is located in the photovoltaic industry base in Yakairrik Township, southwest of Shache County, Kashgar Prefecture, about 32km away from Shache County. The proposed PV capacity of the project is 2000MW on the AC side, and the energy storage capacity is 500MW/2000MWh. According to the feasibility study report of the project, the project site is rich in solar energy resources. It is estimated that the average annual utilization hours are 1479.71 hours. The overall investment is economically feasible.

This project is an important strategic investment project to deepen Guangdong's counterpart assistance to Xinjiang, promote the Company's realization of multi energy complementation and integrated development in Xinjiang, and actively lay out the northwest and explore development.
