The Chinese President pointed out that President Michel's visit to China soon after the end of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China on behalf of all EU member states reflects the good will of the EU to develop relations with China. China and Europe are two major forces for world peace, two markets for common development, and two civilizations for human progress. It is in the common interests of China and the EU and the international community to maintain the upward momentum of China EU relations and adhere to mutual benefit and win-win results. The more volatile the international situation is and the more prominent the global challenges are, the greater the significance of China EU relations in the world.

Michel said that the European side is willing to well handle high-level exchanges with China in the next stage, reduce misunderstanding and miscalculation by strengthening direct dialogue and cooperation, strengthen communication and cooperation, and better jointly address global challenges such as the energy crisis, climate change and public health. The European side is willing to continue to push forward the process of EU China investment agreement with China, enhance stability and mutual trust in the supply chain, and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation between Europe and China in various fields.
