Recently, the world's first onshore commercial modular small reactor "Linglong No.1" nuclear island installation project in Changjiang, Hainan was officially started. The project to be implemented this time is the installation sub item of the pipe supports and hangers in the reactor building, which is the infrastructure connecting the nuclear island and the conventional island.

The nuclear island where the installation project started this time is the core of the whole nuclear power plant. Later, the pressure vessels, steam generators and other major equipment of the nuclear power plant will be installed in the nuclear island.

The "Linglong No.1" demonstration project will be commenced on July 13, 2021, with a total planned duration of 58 months. The small reactor has the characteristics of high safety, short construction period, flexible deployment, etc. It can be used as a distributed energy source to supply power for seawater desalination, district heating, industrial heating and other purposes. The power of each "Linglong No.1" unit is 125000 kilowatts, and the annual power generation after completion can reach 1 billion kWh. Editor/Ma Xue
