On the afternoon of December 2, 2022, the Shandong - Belarus Vitebsk Region Cooperation Dialogue, themed "30 Years of China-Belarus: Luwei and China Going Hand in Hand", was held via video link in Jinan, Qingdao, Zibo and Vitebsk Region of Belarus. Zhang Jiangting, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of Shandong Provincial People's Congress attended and addressed the dialogue. Vladimir Belos, Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of Vitebsk Oblast, Chinese Ambassador to Belarus Xie Xiaoyong and Belarusian Ambassador to China Yuri Shchenko attended and delivered speeches online respectively. The People's Congress, parliament, economy, trade and culture departments of both sides participated in the exchange and witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements and the unveiling of projects in the fields of economy and trade, science and technology, culture and sister cities between our province and Belarus.

Zhang Jiangting said in his speech that Shandong has always attached great importance to friendly exchanges with Belarusan localities, implemented the initiative of the leaders of the two countries on China-Belarusan Year of Local cooperation at a high level, and promoted the practical cooperation between the two provinces and states in various fields to achieve fruitful results. Shandong is an important cradle of the Chinese civilization. Vitebsk Prefecture has a profound historical and cultural heritage. We hope to promote exchanges and cooperation at all levels and through multiple channels between the local people's congresses and parliaments of the two provinces, play the role of a bridge, enhance friendship, mutual trust and mutual learning, and help build quality projects of sister-city cooperation in key areas.

Vice Chairman Belois pointed out that Vitebsk attaches great importance to international exchanges and cooperation and has broad prospects for cooperation with Shandong Province in the fields of economy, trade and culture. He hoped that the two provinces and states could explore new models of mutually beneficial cooperation by combining their resources and industrial advantages and jointly promote high-quality development of the two places.

The "Belarus Research Center of Shandong Academy of Sciences" was officially inaugurated. A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Zone and the Economic Commission of Vitebsk Prefecture. A memorandum of friendship and cooperation was signed between Gaoqing County of Zibo City and Braslav City of Vitebsk Prefecture. Shandong Lv Theater and Shandong Philharmonic National Orchestra signed memorandums of cooperation with the Belarusian National Music Theater and Vitebsk Philharmonic Orchestra respectively.

The successful holding of the Cooperation Dialogue between Shandong and Vitebsk Prefecture of Belarus will push the mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation between the two sides to a new level and make greater local contribution to China-Belarus relations at the age of 30. Editor/He Yuting
