On December 5, 2022, the Development and Reform Commission of Yunnan Province issued the official reply on the feasibility study report of the Yuxi Airport Expressway Hongta Yanhe Jiangcheng Project. The Yuxi Airport Expressway Hongta Yanhe Jiangcheng Project has been included in the "Fourteenth Five Year Plan" Comprehensive Transportation Development Plan of Yunnan Province. It is one of the county expressway "connectivity" projects in Yunnan Province. The project code is 2101-530400-04-01-57448.

Project overview

The total length of the main line of the project is 37.659 km, which starts near Shaopo, Yanhe Street, Hongta District. A hub interchange is set up to connect to the G8511 Kunming Molotov Expressway; It ends near Taoyuan Village, Jiangcheng Town, Jiangchuan District, and a hub interchange is set to connect Chengjiang Jiangchuan Expressway. The estimated total investment of the project is 10.568 billion yuan.

The main line is constructed according to the standard of two-way six lane expressway, with design speed of 100km/h and subgrade width of 33.5m; The design vehicle load level of bridges and culverts shall be highway – Class I, and other technical indicators shall comply with the Technical Standards for Highway Engineering (JTG B01 – 2014).
