Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Energy has announced the pre-qualification list for the fourth round of bidding for a 3.3GW renewable energy project. Powerchina, China Power Investment Corporation Yellow River Hydropower, Goldwind, Jinkosolar and CGNN EDRA Power are among the five Chinese companies shortlisted.

In late September 2022, the Saudi State Electricity Procurement Company (SPPC) launched the tender for the project. The project is the fourth round of Saudi Arabia's renewable energy procurement program under the National Renewable Energy Program (NREP) and has a total capacity of 3.3GW, of which wind power projects have a capacity of 1.8GW and photovoltaic projects have a capacity of 1.5GW.

According to the previous NREP third round of projects, the tender scope is IPP projects, supported by the Saudi State Electricity Procurement Company (SPPC) 25-year power purchase agreement, with a minimum localization ratio of 18%.

In general, Saudi Arabia has good conditions for wind and solar energy development, and with the implementation of Vision 2030, the country and the Middle East have gradually become a competitive arena for the world's leading renewable energy companies. Editor/Xu Shengpeng
