On the afternoon of December 8, 2022, President Xi Jinping met with Crown Prince Mishal of Kuwait in Riyadh. Xi Jinping pointed out that China supports Kuwait in safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and appreciates Kuwait's adherence to the one-China principle and support for China on issues related to China's core interests such as Hong Kong, Taiwan and Xinjiang. China is willing to continue to be Kuwait's reliable partner and work together with Kuwait to jointly create a better future for China-Kuwait relations.

Xi Jinping emphasized that China supports Kuwait in implementing the 2035 national vision, and is willing to strengthen the docking of the development strategies of the two countries, actively participate in the construction of major projects in Kuwait, tap the cooperation potential in new energy, 5G communications, digital economy and other fields, and support cultural exchanges and cooperation. The first China-Arab States Summit and the China-Ghailand Summit are milestone events. China is willing to work with Kuwait to promote greater development of China-Arab and China-Ghailand relations. China congratulates Kuwait on becoming a dialogue partner of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and a member of the CICA, appreciates Kuwait's support for global development initiatives, and is willing to strengthen communication and coordination with Kuwait in regional and international affairs, and make efforts for common development and universal security of all countries.

Mishal said that China is a great country, the friendship between Kuwait and China has a long history, and the friendship between the two sides is as deep as brothers. China always insists that all countries, big or small, are equal, insists on non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries, and is committed to working for the well-being of people all over the world. A series of important initiatives and major measures put forward by China are beneficial to the world. China is Kuwait's eternal friend. On behalf of the entire Kuwaiti people, I congratulate President Xi Jinping, who is deeply loved by the people and has been re-elected as General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
