On December 10, 2022, the daily gas production of the Sulige Gas Field of Changqing Oilfield, located in the northwest of the Ordos Basin in Inner Mongolia, reached 105 million cubic meters, which can meet the daily gas consumption of more than 50 million households. It is understood that this is China's first large gas field with a daily output of more than 100 million cubic meters of natural gas, an increase of 3.08 million cubic meters per day compared with the same period in 2021, a record high.

Changqing Oilfield Sulige Gas Field

Sulige Gas Field is the largest integrated gas field on land in China, with an exploration area of 60,000 square kilometers and a total resource of 5.5 trillion cubic meters. It is a low-permeability, low-pressure, and low-abundance three-low gas field. Since its development and construction in 2001, after more than 20 years of ups and downs, it has innovated and formed 16 key core technologies in five major technology series, overcome the problem of effective development of three low-tight gas reservoirs, and explored the formation of six unified, three shared, and one centralized management models And the construction model of the four modernizations has built a pattern of overall coordinated development.

As the main source of natural gas to ensure the natural gas demand of the Beijing-Tianjin region and surrounding cities in Inner Mongolia, the Sulige Gas Field currently has its pipeline network covering more than 40 cities including Beijing and Tianjin, benefiting a population of more than 250 million. Up to now, 28.68 billion cubic meters of natural gas have been produced. It is estimated that by the end of 2022, the annual natural gas production of Sulige Gas Field will exceed 30 billion cubic meters, accounting for 58% of China's onshore tight gas. Editor/He Yuting
