Recently, with the slow unhook between the main crane and the impeller, the hoisting of the first unit of the Ivovik 84MW wind power project in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been completed, marking that the Ivovik project has entered the stage of unit installation and commissioning. The construction of the main body of the project and the grid-connected power generation will be fully completed in 2019 to lay the foundation.

Ivovik Project

The Ivovik project is located in West Bosnia, about 90 kilometers away from Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is currently the largest wind power project in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Goldwind won the largest wind power project order in Bosnia and Herzegovina). The project uses 20 Goldwind GW136-4.2MW wind turbines. Under the local wind conditions, the GW136-4.2MW can achieve a 25-year operating life. This unit has also obtained EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) certification, which can meet the European environmental performance carbon footprint requirements.

During the effective construction period of less than 4 months, the project has successively completed the cleaning and excavation of the entire road platform, the blasting and excavation of the foundation pits of all 20 units, the binding of 14 units’ foundation reinforcement, the foundation concrete pouring of 12 units, and the boosting of pressure. Civil works such as the construction of the main structure of the station building have been successfully transferred to the unit hoisting stage, creating an "Ivovik speed" that is nearly a year ahead of the construction progress of other local wind farms, and has attracted attention in the Western Balkans.

After the project is completed, the annual power generation hours are expected to reach 3,028 hours, and 250 million kWh of clean electricity will be delivered to surrounding areas every year, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 172,000 tons.

The Ivovik project was included in the list of cooperation achievements of the China-CEEC Leaders Summit in February 2021, and will play an important demonstration role in the new energy cooperation and economic and trade development between China and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
