Recently, the 1GW wind power project in Bukhara, Uzbekistan, which was contracted by CEEC EPC, officially started construction. This project is the largest single wind power project in Central Asia. This is an important achievement of the comprehensive promotion of strategic cooperation between CEEC International Group and the Saudi owner ACWA Power in October 2022.

The project is located in the northeast and northwest of Bukhara, Uzbekistan. Two 500MW wind power plants and transmission lines will be built in the Bash and Zankeldi regions respectively. The project makes full use of the local abundant wind resources, and can provide more than 3.5 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity to the local power grid every year, benefiting millions of residents in Uzbekistan. Since September 2022, the project performance team has entered the site in batches to carry out geological survey, design and camp construction. CEEC International Group will take the lead in Zhejiang Thermal Power, International Engineering Company and North China Institute to scientifically formulate various work objectives, focus on safety management, ensure the smooth performance of the project and power generation on schedule, and build the project into a model project along the Belt and Road.
