Kazakhstan is an ideal location for clean energy and green hydrogen production, such as the vast steppes that have excellent year-round wind conditions and a much stronger solar output than central Europe. Michel's presence at the signing ceremony in the Kazakh capital Astana hinted at the importance of the project to the EU, which aims to import 10 million tonnes of green hydrogen by 2030.
