The China-Laos Railway, like a giant steel dragon, winds its way from Kunming in Yunnan, China, crosses Mopan Mountain, Ailao Mountain, and Wuliang Mountain, crosses the Yuan River, Amo River, Babian River, and Lancang River, and finally extends to Vientiane, the capital of Laos. . It is the China-Laos International Railway, referred to as the China-Laos Railway, with a total length of 1,035 kilometers. It consists of three sections: Kunyu Section, Yumo Section, and Mowan Section. It took nearly 11 years of construction and will be completed and opened to traffic on December 3, 2021.

According to statistics, during the construction phase, the China-Laos Railway has created 110,000 local jobs in Laos, helped the country build nearly 2,000 kilometers of roads and canals, and driven the sales of local raw materials to more than 5.1 billion yuan. During the first year of its operation, the China-Laos Railway has transported 8.5 million passengers and 11.2 million tons of cargo.

The China-Laos Railway is built in accordance with the first-class national railway standards. China Railway Construction Electrification Bureau, as the main force in the construction of four electric power systems, that is, communication system construction, signal system construction, electric traction power supply system construction and electric power supply system construction, fully participates in project construction and operation management. Teach the Lao staff the technology and experience of railway construction and operation, train a group of high-level local skilled talents for the construction, operation and maintenance of the China-Laos railway, and build a friendship bridge between China and Laos.

When the China-Laos Railway project was just started, the project department of China Railway Construction Electrification Bureau hired 26-year-old Lao youth Yang Zai. Niu Yuchun found that Yang Zai was studious and hardworking, so he taught him related techniques. With the teacher's careful teaching and guidance, coupled with his own unremitting efforts, Yang Zai gradually learned to read maps, use instruments, mastered railway survey and construction technologies, and quickly grew into a professional technical talent in the field of railway construction. After the opening of the China-Laos Railway, Yang Zai became one of the backbone of the operation.

On May 31, 2022, Yang Zai was awarded the second Silk Road Friendship Envoy for his outstanding performance. In the comments given to him by relevant parties, he praised him for giving full play to his potential and writing wonderful stories about Lao youth's efforts and achievements on the China-Laos railway line that stretches for thousands of miles. On October 31, 2022, the results of the 4th Belt and Road Hundred Countries Imprint Short Video Contest were released. Yang Zai’s short video work "Out of the Mountains", which describes Yang Zai's experience in the construction and operation of the China-Laos Railway, won the Social Welfare Award in the competition. The struggle story of this Lao youth on the China-Laos Railway has become a well-known story along the Belt and Road.

The Vientiane Dispatch Center is the brain center of the Mowan section of the China-Laos Railway. It is also a model project for communication signal construction technology. Based on the quality standards of China's high-speed rail, it is built with the integration of signal, communication, and information systems, which effectively guarantees the high quality of the railway. , High-level operation. As the main participants of the Vientiane dispatching center project, Li Chunsheng and Tang Wenqi are not only committed to building high-quality projects, but also teaching them how to fish, taking project construction as a large classroom of theory and practice, and cultivating local talents represented by Lao youth Long Lan. China's high-speed rail technology has truly benefited the economic and social development of Laos and the local people.

The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed to promote the high-quality development of the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, and the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative has become a popular international public product and international cooperation platform. The China Railway Construction Electrification Bureau will fully implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, continue to work hard, make due contributions to the safe, stable and efficient operation of the China-Laos Railway, and help make it a model of the Belt and Road Initiative, and make China's high-speed railway overseas The story is told more vividly and excitingly.
