Recently, with the opening of the land acquisition and demolition of the Huangyuan Xihai Highway Project of G0612 Xining Hotan Expressway, it means that the construction of the Huangyuan Xihai Highway Project has been put on the agenda. The project is planned to be fully started in April 2023. The highway is a fast land access to Xinjiang.

Huangyuan Xihai Highway is an important part of the national highway G0612 Ningxi Hotan Expressway, a key project of the "Fourteenth Five Year Plan" highway development planning of the Ministry of Transport, a land port to Central and South Asian countries, and a fast land channel to Xinjiang. The total length of the project route is 50.7 km, with a budget investment of 5.66 billion yuan. The whole line is constructed according to the standard of two-way four lane expressway, with a design speed of 100 km/h and a subgrade width of 26 meters. The project construction is of great significance for improving the national and regional highway network, accelerating the construction of the "the Belt and Road" and the "Western Development" to form a new pattern, helping our province to build a highland of ecological civilization, building the "four cities" of industry, and promoting the integration of transportation and tourism and high-quality economic and social development.
