On the morning of December 28, 2022, the mobilization conference for the construction of Ningbo West Hub and the commencement ceremony of the pilot project were held, and the three pilot projects started at the same time! Relevant people said that since this year, the construction of Ningbo West Hub has been vigorously promoted, drawing a grand blueprint for planning and construction from scratch. It took half a year to realize the pilot project from project approval to construction commencement, opening a new journey for the construction of Ningbo West Hub.

The three pilot projects under construction this time include the West Hub Traffic Pilot Project, the West Hub Water Conservancy Pilot Project and the Gulin Station in the West Hub Section of Line 6. Among them, the West Hub Traffic Pilot Project is located in Xiaodongqiao Natural Village, Xiyang Administrative Village, Shiqi Street, Haishu District. The area covered by the red line is about 5.04 hectares, with a total building area of about 160000 square meters.

The water conservancy pilot project is one of the main projects of the flood control and waterlogging drainage water conservancy project system in the west hub area. It is located next to Wanjin Road in Haishu District. The length of the river embankment of the project is about 1.44km. New pumping stations and other infrastructure are built, and landscape greening along the river is arranged.

Gulin Station of West Hub Section of Ningbo Rail Transit Line 6 is located in Gulin Lvyuan Park, Haishu District. The project mainly involves the construction of the diaphragm wall structure of Gulin Station.

The relevant person in charge of Ningbo Railway and West Hub Construction Center said that the commencement of the three pilot projects marked the first substantive step in the construction of Ningbo West Hub and the prelude to the development and construction of the West Hub area. This is an important measure to comprehensively implement the spirit of the Twentieth National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and enhance the hard core power of serving the largest country through practical actions. It is also a powerful starting point for building the first landmark of the city in the future and promoting common prosperity.The planning area of Ningbo West Hub is about 108 square kilometers, and the core area is about 42 square kilometers. Specifically, it includes the integrated construction of the airport phase IV and the West Railway Station, the rail transit, the realignment of the ring expressway, the National Expo Center and supporting facilities, the industrial and urban supporting facilities, the development and construction of the district, etc. The final scale of the planning will meet the passenger flow of 220 million person times, the freight volume of about 3 million tons in 2050, and the total design scale of the hub will reach the first level of the Yangtze River Delta.
