On December 28, 2022, the public service platform for bidding and tendering in China released the prequalification announcement for the PPP project of Shangsi Pingguo Road through Long'an to Fusui. The project belongs to the industrial highway, and the tenderee is the Department of Transportation of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The total investment of the project is 18.89 billion yuan.

Project overview

The total length of the project is 131.142km, and the route generally runs in a north-south direction. The main line starts from the northeast of Matou Town, Pingguo City, and crosses with the T-shaped hub of Wuxuan Pingguo Expressway. The route goes south into Long'an County, crosses the Youjiang River near Jinjitan Hydropower Station, crosses with the cross hub of Nanning Baise Expressway, successively crosses Nanning Kunming Railway, Yunnan Guangxi Railway, Chengxiang Town, Nanxu Town Qiaojian Town crosses the Shuang Laba hub of Long'an Shuolong Expressway under construction. After passing Gutan Township, it crosses Tanluo Town, Xixiangtang District and enters Fusui County. The route continues to the south, passing through Middle East Town, crossing the cross hub of Nanning Daxin Expressway, passing through Changping Township and Xinning Town, successively crossing Zuojiang River, crossing Hunan Guangxi Railway, Nangao Railway, crossing the cross hub of Nanning Youyiguan Expressway, and passing through Bapan Township and Shanwei Town, Finally, near Shanwei Industrial Park, it intersects with the designed T-shaped hub of Datang Pingxiang Expressway. Two connecting lines with a total length of 5.303km will be constructed simultaneously, namely, the Yanjiang connecting line with a length of 2.453km and the Fusui West connecting line with a length of 2.85km.

The main line of the project adopts the standard of two-way four lane expressway with a design speed of 120km/h. There are 70 bridges with a length of 19645m and 14 tunnels with a length of 9312m, with a bridge tunnel ratio of 22.08%; 13 interchanges are set; 3 service areas; 3 management offices and maintenance stations; 7 toll booths.
