On December 28, 2022, the construction of two new energy projects of Three Gorges Group in Sichuan: 330000kW photovoltaic power generation project in Huili City, Liangshan Prefecture, and 500000 kW photovoltaic power generation project in Yari County, Daofu County, Ganzi Prefecture. The total investment of the project is 4.23 billion yuan, with a total installed capacity of 830000 kilowatts. After the completion of the project, it can produce about 1.4 billion kilowatt hours of clean electricity every year, saving 436000 tons of standard coal. It will effectively improve the energy structure of Sichuan Province, build a new pattern of power production and supply and demand with complementary water and scenery, further consolidate and expand the achievements of poverty alleviation in Liangshan Prefecture and Ganzi Prefecture, and continue to promote rural revitalization.

The 330000 kilowatt photovoltaic power generation project in Huili City, Liangshan Prefecture, with a total investment of about 1.63 billion yuan, is the first base type photovoltaic power generation project to be started on the Sichuan side of the Jinsha River downstream water, wind, storage and integrated clean energy development base. The integrated clean energy development base for water, wind, solar energy and storage in the lower reaches of the Jinsha River, involving 26 counties (cities and districts) in Sichuan and Yunnan Province, is one of the nine clean energy bases planned in the 14th Five Year Plan. The total installed capacity of the planned new wind power and photovoltaic projects is expected to exceed 15 million kilowatts, and the total direct investment is expected to exceed 90 billion yuan. After the completion of the base, it will form the world's largest green, clean and renewable energy corridor with four hydropower stations, namely Xiluodu, Xiangjiaba, Wudongde and Baihetan.

At present, the Three Gorges Group has signed new energy project cooperation and development agreements with Sichuan and Yunnan provinces respectively. According to the agreement, the Three Gorges Group will invest nearly 8 million kilowatts in the clean energy development base for integrated water, scenery and storage in the lower reaches of the Jinsha River, and jointly build a national demonstration base for clean energy storage in the lower reaches of the Jinsha River with Sichuan and Yunnan provinces.

The 500000kW Yari photovoltaic power generation project in Daofu County, Ganzi Prefecture is a key project for the construction of the integrated clean energy base of water, wind, solar energy and storage in Ganzi Prefecture. Daofu County is rich in solar and thermal resources. Relying on the characteristics of high altitude, high mountains and wide slopes, long sunshine time and strong wind, the county is committed to expanding the wind and light industry chain and building a 10 million kilowatt clean energy base. The project is one of the larger photovoltaic power generation projects under construction. At the same time, the station site uses barren hillsides in mountainous areas, which plays a good role in engineering demonstration in Ganzi Prefecture, where there are many mountains and less arable land.Editor/Xing Wentao
