On December 29, 2022, the commencement ceremony of the reconstruction and expansion project of the section from Kailan Road (National Highway 240) to the downtown of Lankao County was held. Kailan Road has a total length of 26.292 km and a red line width of 60 meters. It adopts a two-way eight lane first-class highway and a functional standard for urban roads; The total length of the connecting line between Kailan Road and G240 in Lankao County is 3.992 km, the subgrade width is 33.5 m, and the standard of two-way six lane first-class highway is adopted. The total investment of the project is about 2.855 billion yuan, and it is planned to be completed and open to traffic by the end of 2024. Kailan Road Rapid Reconstruction and Improvement Project was awarded by China Power Construction Road and Bridge Group Co., Ltd., and the second company of Sinohydro Bureau 3 Co., Ltd. acted as the performance subject of the second bid section.
