Zewayos said in his speech that the implementation of the project will completely change the current difficult water supply situation in the Calderón area and effectively meet the water needs of 500,000 residents in the area. He expressed his gratitude to the Inter-American Development Bank and other relevant financing institutions for their support, and hoped that the contractors would be honest, trustworthy and perform their contracts with high quality.

The main project content of the Buenpo-Calderón water pipeline project in Quito is the procurement and laying of 25.9 kilometers of seamless steel pipes for water supply, and the supporting construction of two suspension bridges and 12 drainage ponds. The contract period is 42 months. As a key project under the drinking water and drainage planning of Quito, it will greatly improve the water supply infrastructure of the capital of Ecuador after completion, and at the same time provide more stable drinking water services for the ever-increasing urban population.
