On January 5, 2023, the signing ceremony of EPC general contract and project supervision service contract for Chongqing Yunyang Jianquan Pumped Storage Power Station, the first million kilowatt pumped storage power station invested by Powerchina, was held in Chengdu Hydropower Building.

Yunyang Pumping and Storage Company signed the EPC general contract for the construction of pumped storage power station with the Central South Research Institute (taking the lead) - the consortium of Sinohydro Bureau 5, Sinohydro Bureau 10 and Sinohydro Bureau 14.

After the project is completed, it is estimated that the annual power generation will be about 925 million kilowatt hours, which can undertake the tasks of peak shaving, valley filling, energy storage, frequency modulation, phase modulation and emergency standby of Chongqing power grid, and effectively alleviate the contradiction of system peak shaving.Editor/Ma Xue
